Files transfers over Linksys
I have the Linksys 4 port cable router. I never thought of this before, but are the lights at the bottom an indicator of connection/transfer speed. Transferring files from one pc to another seems somewhat slow. I am wondering if it is running at 10 rather than 100. Both machines have 10/100 nic cards. And I know RTM. But I don't have it with me. How do you test lan speed?
TIA

100 Orange. The 100 LED lights up when a successful 100 Mbps connection is made through the corresponding port.
If this LED does not light up, then your connection speed is 10 Mbps.

If you have 10/100 NIC and have the setting for the "Link Speed/Duplex Mode" set at AUTO or 100 FULL MODE, you will see the orange light lit up on the Linksys router.
