Downloading
Using win 2000 on a work network. Used to be able to download anything but now nothing will download. No one has touched my laptop but me and i have made no changes. Other people can still download but i cant. I have tried using other connections but nothing happens. Every time i try to save a file it comes up with the box saying "do you want to OPEN or SAVE or CANCEL or MORE INFO" i click save and then the box dissapears and nothing happens. It comes up with a message saying cannot locate file?

Help!!!

Check with your network administrator to see if he is blocking ports for downloading, most likely he is, to reduce bandwidth load.

To me it sounds more like an browser corruption problem rather than a policy setting.

If you are using IE, try the repair function found in the Add/Remove Programs icon (within that look for Microsoft IE then choose Add/remove, then you should have an option to repair it).

I have to agree with DVNT1, I've had IE do that to me before. And Netscape too, now that I think about it. Time to get Mozilla!
