Router and FireWall

Greetings. I am running a Linksys BEFSR41 and ZoneAlarm3 Pro. I flashed the Linksys to the latest firmware a couple weeks ago. Prior to flashing, my ZA3 didnt take any hits because the Router blocked all activity. Since the firmware upgrade, I am getting around 6-10 hits a day on Pro. I have reviewed all settings in the Linksys Router and as long as I understand everything- it is all set correct. Any suggestions or ideas? Why is stuff getting through now where it didnt before (Also, I have 4 boxes running and it is consistent with each box- only my main system runs Pro, the others do not).

Could be the obvious (problem with the revised firmware). I would flash back to your previous firmware. I don't think you could have flashed it incorrectly because of the checksum it should be using.

What version of the firmware are you using?

Sounds like some of the firmware versions screw things ups for some people.

My friend flashed his and has been pulling his hair out for 2 days trying to get his network back up..

Going back to the old version may help him.

Greetings. I enabled SPI (which isnt enabled by default) yesteday afternoon and havent had a hit on my software firewalls yet (although, when enabled, port forwarding and some other settings will not work). I understand that it is some kind of filtering setting to allow other features to work. I was getting hits from Verisign and a few other similar pings (dont ask me why???), but- since enabling, nothing. If this does not continue to correct, I will drop back the flash as suggested.
