Satellite Internet?

Ok, I know that Satellite Internet isn't great, however, this dial up is killing me.
So, does anyone know of a Satellite ISP that is good? If possible, an ISP that doesn't require you to still use Dial-up to just web page surf, but one that allows pure satellite usage.

Surely after all these hours, your friend Google/and or phone book gave you a list...There's even and ad in your first post that would be a good thing to click on
Quote:
Rural Satellite Internet
Wildblue Official Sales Center. Home of Rural High Speed Internet
But, it might help if you mentioned your state and or zip code.

Wildblue seems to be ok, excluding web gaming and other applications, due to the high latency associated with Satellite connections.
I don't web game anyways.

DSL reports broke since the telco's made them stop doing proper referals and forced them to put this up.

Prequalification APIs from the major telcos are unavailable to third parties unless they are also allowed to spam or direct-market you merely for enquiring after availability. If you only check the majors, you are missing out on whether local ISPs may be offering equivalent or better service. If you are after broadband and trust your existing phone or cable TV provider, check availability with them directly. If you don't trust them, there may be a local ISP available in your area - use our search services to find out if that is the case.

So neither is DSL Reports. Your best bet is to google and start the hunt and peck.

Find Broadband Service Now - dslreports.com
-> Click on "Broadband prequalification process (what can I get?)"
system message
-> Message that you can no longer find ISPs easily.

Yes user reviews are great but are more often then not for service that is outside your state or general area. More often it is for service that is entirely different like comparing Docsis 1.0 and 2.0 service from cable providers that offer service in both major metropolitan and rural areas. Yes the name is the same but the service level is not.

Second, resellers are often times not reviewed so it is hard to find that off-shot provider that can resell you the same service with additional features that may be better. Also, depending on your area, you may find that your only provider is so small it hasnt made it into a review.

Once again, going through google may result in better options which you can then research more informatively through DSLreports.

There is a small company that provides wireless internet access in my area. Never new that company was around here until I saw them in that web site. So it helps to look there.
