| Help connecting 2 routers together...
Ok, i've seen a few threads on here, but this is what i'm wanting to do:
I have 2 Belkin routers (F5D9230-4 and F5D7231-4) Wireless G Plus MIMO, and Wireless G Plus respectively. I would like to be able to have one connected to my cable modem, then connect the 2nd router to the 1st with a CAT cable.
What I'm trying to do here is extend my wireless network range, since the way my place is laid out, some areas don't get a very strong connection. The 1st router would be in our living room so that we can have a decent wireless signal in this area, and then run a CAT line to the 2nd router which would be in my office connected to my desktop machines. It would be very helpful to be able to extend our network like this if it's possible.
If someone could describe to me how i could set this up, i would be very grateful. Any detailed instructions as far as anything that needs to be changed in the router config would be nice as well. Thanks in advance!

Okay decide which router will be plugged into the cable modem. Setup your DHCP address range and such for your clients. Setup the wireless SSID, encryption, wireless channel (you can use 1,6, or 11) on this router also.
Then plug your computer into the second router and disable the DHCP server on it. Change the ip address of router to something on the same subnet so you can remotely manage it. Setup the wireless with the same SSID as the other router, same encryption, and change the channel of the wireless (if you used 1 on the first router, change the channel to 6 or 11). Plug in the cat5 cable into the first port and you shouldn't have any problems. |

I dont want to open a new thread, since this problem fits here too.
Im having a issue with wireless channels. Both routers are on same SSID, both security (i disabled it just for tests), both modes (mixed) and the odd thing its that I can only access 1 of them. Example: if i set main router to channel 1, and secondary router to channel 6 or 11, I cant access my main router (and Internet). If i set both to channel 11, i cant access my secondary router either. But what's more weird, its: if i turn off the secondary router, and then turn back on, i can access my main router and not my secondary router (both on channel 11). The same goes with main router on channel 1 and secondary router on channel 6 or 11.
Oh btw, when I have both routers connected through ethernet, I can see my router as a wireless client connected (on the main router status). But when i unplug the ethernet cable, i dont see it anymore...
Any reason why its this happening? :|
Thanks in advance,
