| Instant messenger to choose
Hello, everyone. I look for an instant messaging service working through internal server for secure exhange. No internet connection. I've reviewed OnLAN Messenger, seems interesting, but I want to hear the real company's experience. So, what's your opinion?
What about OpenFire server with Jabber client and other stuff like this?

I know the Communicator - it's complicated and seems to be overloaded with useless features, plus, it costs 300-500 per user, much too much |

Have you looked serverless messaging software? If you have not so many PCs, it can be useful also. |

LOL! Its an IT expense, budget for the communicator server and charge departments the Per User account fees.
If you want free, why not just have all your employees sign up for MSN, Y!, or AIM accounts. No need to pay for something that is free right? |

It's true, but as I see AlfredB asked about a secure exchange. Public IMs don't guarantee security with all these IM worms, viruses etc.
