Don't suppose we could totally forget about connecting more than one at the same time as an issue - I never ever do this, they are always one at a time, I've been using them OK like this for around 1 year and only now do I have the problem, it isn't that I've been fiddling and it has changed because of this, one day it was connecting fine, the next it was saying it was connecting but gave me the 'not connecting to the internet' page on iexplorer.
It is obviously a software issue, not a hardware one, can we focus on WHAT I UNINSTALL/REINSTALL to perhaps solve this problem?

Ok, if you want to try that, then I'd suggest doing a System Restore to a date and time that you know that it was last working.

This would mean that any programs that you have installed since that date/time would need to be re-installed, and I would advise to back up any data that may have been changed too. Having said that, this is something you should do anyway - especially if it is "critical" data.
