befsr41 ver2 router help

I just got a befsr41 linksys router yesterday from a buddy of mine so that I can run a ps3 and my comp at the same time. The ps3 will be hard wired to the router, as well as the comp. I don't know a whole lot about computers, just enough to get me by. Anyway I hooked up the router to my comcast hi-speed got the green link lights on the router, pulled the router ip in the ipconfig. I am able to access the router via it's ip on my computer so I know the comp is reading it. My problem is I can't get my comp to pull a dns suffix. It says I'm connected but I can't access the net. I did not recieve the cd software with this router therefore I can't run the cd to automatically configure my computer. I've done everything that I can think of, renewing ip, changing settings anything short of calling them and sitting on the phone which I would like to avoid. If anyone has any advice please let me know. I want to get my ps3 online asap. Any help is appriciated. Thanks

ps. I've also pinged it out and it passed with no errors, I just cannot browse the net, when I try to it trys to load for about 30 sec then comes back cannot find server, even though the comp says I'm connected.
