adding another domain controller to a domain

hi im having trouble adding another domain controller to my domain. we just got a new server and we want to add this as another domain controller on our existing domain. we are running server 2003 on both servers.

after connecting and configuring the new server on our network no PC ping the new domain, the old server can see the new domain but cant connect to it. the new server can see and ping everything on our network and can surf the web. as far as i can tell there isnt an active firewall on the server so i have no idea why the network cant communicate with the new server

the idea is we want to slowly move everything off the old domain and move it to the new one. so if anyone can help it would be grate

what does the ipconfig show for the old and new domain controller?


I think if you have RC2 or SP2 it loads a firewall on 2003. (one of those installs a firewall)
