not connected to server

our company just bought new computers and on two of them everytime you boot one up, you have to go to "my computer" and select the server to connect to. it should be connected automatically shouldnt it? is there a feature to make this permanently connected? 2 out of the 4 computers we bought connect automatic, and 2 dont.
