Error 10055, This is when i lose internet

This is a software issue since all i have to do is restart and it's working again.

I recently installed Network Magic. I remember it stating that it was replacing a lot of system files that were not digitally signed and i allowed it.

When i uninstalled it, the problem started.

I get no error logs in event viewer when i lose the internet but i do lose it every 24 - 36 hrs from the time it boots up.

I receive the 10055 error message from software that uses the internet as this lets me know exactly when i lose the internet.

IE7 tells me it is a winsock catalog issue. It never gets fixed whiel i'm in windows, i have to restart to fix it.

I have downloaded a Winxp winsock hotfix and that didnt work.

I have ran sfc /scannow and i got a LOT of error messages in Event viewer saying it could not replace the bad files with the original with error code - 0x800b0100

The only thing left is to reinstall windows over itself but i'm leavin that as a last resort.

Anyone have a clue as to what i should do before reinstalling over?

well, i did a repair of the windows installation by replacing all system files and it still gave the same problem so it must be one or more registry errors.

Since i didn't even know where to begin, i just installed a new copy of Windows so it should work fine now.
