AOL and Netgear DG834G settings help needed!

Hi All,

Im having alot of problems with download speed for torrents, connection to limewire and Ares downloads, and generally poor Internet speeds using AOL and my netgear router.

I have 2 machines connected to my router. I have set both machines to use a static IP address, and I have set up port forwarding on my router. I have disabled windows firewall but I still cant connect to Limewire and torrents are very slow to download.

What are the basic settings I need for AOL in my router setup

ATM i am using:
PPPoA
MTU = 1492

Do I need to setup the DNS servers on router? When setting up my static IP address I used 92.31.242.20. Is this the right one?

Please everyone, I jsu need help sorting my torrents and P2P download and connection settings out! AFAIK i have set up firewall properly, routers properly and Im lost now what to do!

Thanks in advance
Rai

We do not support or condone the use of illegal forms of download. Please note that this is cause for being banned. As such, your not going to get much help with setting that up from anyone on here.

Call AOL techsupport and see if they will help you.
