Hi, I have a strange problem. I can access the internet through AOL and the old Netscape Navigator (v. 9.0), but I can't access through Opera or Firefox. Furthermore, I can't do updates with most programs (ZoneAlarm, Java, AVG, etc.)
My problem started when I tried to update the version of Opera to the newest version. I've found no viruses or malware (AVG, Adaware, Anti-Malware) I've tried Registry repair and even tried the repair option of the Windows Install CD.
I thought it was the fire-wall, but I turned it off and it didn't change the problem. I also tried deleting all the application info (from the firewall) starting from scratch. I haven't tried reinstalling anything except the Opera program. I tried resetting to defaults in internet options, clearing java, ensuring no proxy server settings.
The problems might also be my use of Bearshare, which BSOD me when used with the Zonealarm so I don't use that anymore. But this problem occurred at a later date, but I throw it in for more info just in case.
As a side note, I was trying to use Trend Micro's Housecall, but it wouldn't finish, said there was an error running the file and I can't clear the data to reload the info.
