MI424WR Verizon Router

Just joined Verizon FIOS Buisiness service. Fiber is installed, as well as, the MI424WR router. Connecting to the standalone router wirelessly is easy and the connection to the internet is great (20/20 service). However, when reconfiguring our server with the static ip address range provided by Verizon and connecting the MI424WR router to our network, we cannot access the internet through this router. We cannot even see the router on the network (ping shows nothing). The internal network is working fine with the new address range, and all workstations pick up a valid IP addresses through DHCP on our server (even those workstatins connected wirelessly through the MI424WR). But none of the workstations can get out through the router to the internet!!! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

Do you have a modem? If so after you updated the static ip address did you reboot the modem?
