One of the files I downloaded had the Multi-dropperV in it but thankfully McAfee found it first.
With all the adware and spyware that Kazaa installs it's hardly worth installing anymore. If you are going to use it you must be VERY careful and know exactly what you are doing. |

I have a junk laptop that I use for Kazaa. I make sure that NAV is updated before running Kazaa. I also have Popupstopper, Sygate personal firewall, Ad-Ware by Lavasoft running. The only time this laptop is connected to the net is after I scrub it clean.

Thanks for the heads up. I plan on using it tonight to get some files I lost in a reformat.

bdj,
isn't ad-aware from lavasoft a great program? I would encourage everyone to get a copy and send the author a small donation. |

I just confirmed that RealMedia's free Real Player puts cydoor on your machine.
System was clean, downloaded and installed real player, rescanned and boom! 14 new spyware/adware programs.
Sorry to go off-topic... |

for kazaa without the spyware, go with kazaa lite. it has 1 dummy cydoor file it needs to run but does nothing. i highly recommend never downloading .exe files unless you know exactly what youre doing. ive gotten a few apps but im very cautious. even still, im taking a chance......... just my non 2-sense.

Yes people! Do not download .exe files over a p2p network unless you know exactly what you are doing. And if you think you know what you're doing...then you probably don't. |
