Printer Share - wireless to wired connection

    I need some help (obviously)

I would have a printer that I want to be available to all the computers on my network. The wireless network detects the printer but says it isn't set up and the wired computer says it's being shared.

    My setup:
-Comcast Cable Modem linked to a Cisco Linksys WRT54G2 Wireless Router
-Ethernet from Linksys is my Dell Desktop running Windows XP
-Wirelessly connected is my Sony Vaio Laptop and soon a MacBook Pro
-The printer is a USB Canon printer
-The desktop is running Cisco's Network Magic and McAfee Security Firewall
-Vaio is running Cisco's Network Magic and Trend Micro Security

On the Dell Desktop, the firewall settings allow exceptions for File and Printer Sharing, Pure Networks Platform Service and UPnP Framework as suggested.

I can supply any more information needed. Please help, I've been messing around with this for awhile and I feel like it is something easy I'm missing.

    Thanks

I forgot to mention the Sony Vaio laptop is running Windows Vista Premium or something like that.

Have you installed the printer drivers on ALL machines?

Let me suggest a print server, such as this Linksys wireless print server (which I use an older version of).

This allows you to put a printer on the network that can be accessed by any PC at any time. There's a simple app that gets installed on each computer that creates a virtual port and the attached printer appears as a local printer.

From the laptop, can you see the desktop on the network? D-click the network icon and is it there?

I can see the desktop and printer on the network from the laptop:

So can you get Vista drivers for it or no?

Photo Inkjet Printers - Photo Inkjet Printers - PIXMA Pro Professional Inkjet Printers - Photo Fun Projects - Photo Printer - PIXMA iP1600 - Canon USA Consumer Products

is the only driver I can get. I installed it with no results. When I try to add the printer manually, I click find printer and it says "The Active Directory Domain service in not available". And after tampering with my McAfee on the desktop, I think there is some sort of firewall blocking it with that too. I've got a real mess. When I turned off the McAfee Firewall (still running the windows firewall) on the desktop I was able to get to the point where I needed the INF (but couldn't get that to work). McAfee automatically enabled the firewall again and now it says "the printer cannot be reached"
