ok, here is how my network is set up. I'll start with my pcs and work my way into the network. As for towers, I have one hp pavilion core 2 duo (windows 7) and one custom workstation with an i7 (windows 7) which are both wired through ethernet into the router as well as one very old dell which has wireless through usb (windows xp). They all work and all were set up through the bonjour print wizard app. As for laptops, I have a non-unibody macbook pro (leopard and windows 7) which prints on both os' and my dad has a business laptop which is a dell latitude d620 (windows xp pro) which was printing fine. My dad claims the only thing that may have caused the problem is him moving the computers and the routers onto surge protectors.Something to keep in mind is that my father is very computer illiterate, so he could have done something he didn't realize would effect the laptops ability to print. Also, all the other computers in the house will print.
As far as the printer goes, it is an hp photosmart c4280 which isn't wireless by nature. That was part of the benefit of buying the time capsule.
The time capsule is extending the network by connecting into a netgear dual-band N router if that makes a difference.
I appreciate all comments and assistance. Since my father uses his laptop for buisiness, keep in mind that installing, well, anything is against his company's policy, but he can squeeze by on installs like print drivers. he also needs it tomorrow if possible. I have tried a fresh install of all the software. That is, the airport utility to mount the HD, and bonjour for the wireless printing, as well as installing the hp drivers for the printer itself.
Thanks again for all comments and Ideas.
