Changing a tcp/ip port for a printer.

I would like to change the tcp/ip port name for my networked printer because it wasn't working on my laptop, but I can get get the correct information off of my other xp machine. Don't ask why I can't just make a new printer. It won't give me a wizard to enter the information in. All it says is "printer name", and "printer location" on the first screen.

Ok, so I'm not real sure how to answer. Couple of questions:

Is it truly a network printer or is it a local printer that is attached to one computer and shared with the rest of the network?

Are you changing the name on a machine where the machine is already installed or adding it to new machine? Both?

Where it says printer name and location is the wizard I believe and you should enter it the printer location there as \\ComputerName\PrinterShareName.

If you will answer the questions I can be a bit more specific.
