Network/wireless issues with epos network and internet

Hello all,
hopefully someone out there can help. I consider myself half a PC geek, but this one has me stumped.
on our Restaurant PC (which is on XP) we have 1 Ethernet port which is used for the local network which links all the EPOS tills to the controlling software, and we also have a wireless network PCI card set up.
If the LAN ethernet cord is unplugged the Wireless card will allow you to go onto the internet, but if it's plugged in the computer recognises the wireless network but fails to go online.
If I disable the TCP/IP on the LAN it then allows the internet to pass through the wireless card, but then of course I cannot retrieve data from the EPOS network.

I've wracked my brain on this one, but got nowhere. Someone out there knows!

If you can help, Thanks!

If I unplug the network cable, I can plug in the internet cord instead. The PC only has 1 ethernet port, which is why we had it installed with a wireless PCI card.
Ideally we need to have the network set up for the EPOS tills, and a connection to the internet.

Okay so you're just wanting to move over to the wireless, that was throwing me off. What wireless router/access point do you have? What wireless card did you install? Did you setup any kind of wireless security?

We need more info about your network

Talking

Ok, perhaps I should give you more info on the wireless set-up.
I'll have a look when I go to work tomorrow.
My wireless router works perfectly with both MAC & PC on wireless channel 10.
Unfortunately, it does not work with the wireless card on the main primary PC whilst the LAN ethernet port has something plugged in.
Basically I wish for it to work whilst my EPOS system is plugged into the one single Ethernet port.
I know that the PC will accept the wireless network, and I know that it will then go online, but not when the two networks are active at the same time.

I'll have a look tomorrow and keep you posted.

Thanks!

If I could have someone tell me that it's possible to have a LAN connection hardlined, and a wireless internet connection at the same time, I'll sit here for hours until I figure it out! :&
