Are the antennas on your router removable? |

Well you have four options
1)Look into a MIMO router which are supposed to give you greater coverage
2) Buy a router that allows you to add on a different antenna
3)Buy a wireless extender
4) buy an access point run a long cat5 cable to give you the coverage you need (I dont recommend this) |

I gave it some thought. I saw a review on it and it seemed like a strong solution |

From what I (and my colleagues from my last job) have found out, using the electic circuitry to link separate locations will only work if it is on the same "circuit" - so if you have a circuit for the power upstairs and another for the power downstairs, and you want to one network point on each, then it won't work....
If you were to flick the switch in the fusebox for one power circuit and they both went out, then you can use that circuit to run the network over....

Linksys used to have a wireless extender for 50-60 bucks. You'd plug it into the wall, it detects your wireless signal and re-broadcasts it.
