error 815 issue

I am trying to get a hp pavillion laptop to connect to the ethernet. I have already got a desktop and a gateway laptop connected through this same router, when I plug them they connect without any glitches, I don't recall having to configure anythin I just plugged in the cable. With this hp, (it is dsl and vista I'm using) when I attempt to connect I just get an error 815 message. I know my isp address, but don't have a clue where to input it if that was the problem. If my provider gave me a password I don't remember ever having it. I'm just stumped why it wouldn't connect like the others. If it's in the set up or something, can you please guide me on what steps to take? Thanks

What router do you have?

Do you have other computers connect to the router? If so, do they connect to the internet just fine

Yes, I have a desktop and a gateway laptop. They connect without any problem. Do I have to configure the ethernet card ? The guy I got it from used internet via wireless and I need it to be dsl, which I'm not sure he ever used on it. Do you know what error 815 is?

The broadband network connection could not be established on your computer because the remote server is not responding. This could be caused by an invalid value for the 'Service Name' field for this connection. Please contact your Internet Service Provider and inquire about the correct value for this field and update it in the Connection Properties.
