Hey guys, so basically I have a laptop connected to a wireless network, and connected via normal network cable straight to an xbox 360.
The problem is that I cannot get my laptop and the xbox 360 to "talk". When I was using vista, I used to be able to just click on the network and change it from public to private, but at the moment windows 7 won't let me do this. This means my xbox can't connect through my pc to xbox live, and it also means that I can't watch House on my tv from my hard drive. Bad times.
My computer identifies the network as public, and can't come up with any solutions. I tried setting a static IP on my xbox and setting it to automatic, but neither is any use. When an IP isn't set, it complains that it isn't getting one set, and one I set a static IP it says it can't connect with a static IP.
My computers IP is 192.168.1.10, and my consoles is set to 192.168.1.12. I set my consoles gateway to 192.168.1.10 so it would look to my computer, and I set the subnet mask as 255.255.255.0.
In vista I could just change the network, but in Windows 7 I can't.
Any Suggestions?
Cheers
Andy
