I can see you not getting the right info. this is what u do. make sure ur router is conected to ur PC. Then go to the run comand in ur start menu and type (cmd). then type (ipconfig) some infomation about ur network will appear it will look something like this
conection specific dsn sufix . : cat3900.net
ip address.............................: 172.16.0.255
subnet mask.........................: 255.255.255.0
defalt gateway .....................: 172.16.1.1
type the defalt gateway in your wed browser and ur clear. |

Unfortunately, I DID find the right gateway using that cmd-ipconfig method =\
Still unable to open it...
Would it work in the AOL browser? Yes, I am admitting, that crap software is still on the computer.. my parents like it I guess.. I dont use that computer.. lol

If no other browsers are working, reset the router to the factory settings and you should be able to log in just fine |

Hi, it could be that the router has been set to respond on a different port.....
The common alternatives are ports :8080, :808, and :800 - I'd try using that on the end of the IP address you're using... (for example: http://192.168.1.1:8080 )
I'd also be interested to know whether you've been able to PING it....

Hi Tengu,
I think your suggestion would work if the OP was using Fista - but ( AFAIK) it doesn't work like that in XP....
Also, I should imagine that it would presume that it would be using the default port (:80) for the webpage..... |

^^
The default gateway will only open in a browser window if it is configured to do so - if it uses a different port then it won't respond on the default port; and if it is configured not to use the GUI then it won't work either......
You have reminded me that it could be possible for the OP to try to TELNET into the router, just to check..... |
