What wireless router do you have?
That is pretty much all you need, what kind of distance are we talking about between the two devices? If you have a laptop I would sit it where this device will be just to see how your signal will be. |

its about 60 feet from the router as the crow flys ,but the atic is an elbow crawl so i don't wanna do it that way . the router is airlink AR525W . but there is a laptop about 15ft from the dvr . maybe 30 ft of cable to wrap around the room behind the couch . |

just to finish this off so others searching will get a fix for my problem
I had a laptop in the same room , so i got a patch cable and connected it to the laptop , and connected it to the drv.
went into the network setting and hightlighted the wireless connection for the laptop and the local area connection , right clicked on it and clicked on bridge .
went into the drv and set it up . boom it was done |
