Error when I upgrade a Switch IOS

Hello,

I wanted to upgrade the IOS on my Cisco switch 2960 but I have an issue. I downloaded a new IOS version and tried to boot on it but I have this error:

Error: *** Unsupported platforms ***
Error: hardware not supported by firmware.
Try loading newer software instead.
System Resetting..

The only command that I can use is boot but after booting I have the previous error.

How can I resolve this issue?

Cisco IOS versions are specific to product model numbers (example: IOS for 3750 won't on 2960) so make sure you are using the right one
