Modem/Router Problems - Belkin and Netgear
I have been having problems with a Netgear DGN2000 Router - and a replacement, whereby the main PC is able to connect to the internet but our laptops are unable to connect to our wifi network even though they can see it.
During all the time we were working on this problem our laptops were able to connect to friends wireless networks without any problem.
I spent hours on the phone with AOL and Netgear support teams to no avail so today I bought a Belkin N modem/router and started again.
This has been more successful in that our laptops connect - but then after 20 or 30 minutes they drop off the network. Sometimes they can be reconnected but at other times we have to switch the power to the Router off and on again to reconnect.
Can anyone suggest anything which might fit as an answer to this problem?
The settings we are using are those which came on the setup disc - and we have deleted old networks. The network is WPA2 protected. Our main desktop and our laptops run XP Home.
