    Exclamation Router with DirecPC satellite

I purchased a DirecPC system for my house because we live in an area with no cable and too far for DSL. Now I want to share it with the 3 computers in the house; however, the only output from the DirecPC box to the PC is USB. I read an earlier message that there are no Routers with USB input and ethernet output. Is this still true? The message suggested to buy a USB/Ethernet adapter. Is this the only option I have?

Buy the adapter to connect the DirecPC modem (convert the USB output to ethernet) then connect that to a regular cable/dsl router? Will this connection affect my download speeds considerably? If it is the only option then I will have to do this, but if there is another faster way please let me know. Thanks.

You could just plug it into one comp and share it with the other two. Only downside is comp 1 will have to be on for 2 and 3 to have net access. I did this in my office with direcpc for over a year and it worked fine. You aren't going to be able to convert the usb to ethernet with an adapter. As far as I know, Direcpc won't work if it isn't plugged into a pc.

I don't know what operating system(s) are involved but with win98se and newer, you can simply share the connection through ICS(Internet Connection Sharing). Try a search for "ics" here for more info on that.
