my computer causes other internet to stop for other comps.

When I browse or surf the internet with my computer, it causes the router to stop working on all devices connected to it. This includes my laptops, iphone, ps3 and other desktop. However, if I or anyone else connected to the router had a stream running on youtube, a file that is downloading, a game running online or voicechat with ventrillo, nothing happens to those processes. I just can't start a new download, or open a new tab, or start anything that requires internet connection.

I've tried using different browsers, I've tried updating my computer, using different ports both on my computer and the router, shutting off all my firewalls, factory resetting my router and nothing works.

I've narrowed the problem down to an issue with my computer as this would never happen to any other or device. This problem ONLY happens when I surf the web or view/open websites.

The only way I can fix the problem is by walking up to my router and restarting the router (the router only) and waiting a minute for my computer to reconnect.

I've noticed that the router stops working when I go to sites or links that have on screen popups of flash or java. When I check my network connection after the internet stops working, the rate of packets received becomes dramatically reduced.

    someone please help me.

    Sounds like a DNS issue.

Can you tell us what model of router and firmware you have?

When the issue happens, open up a command prompt on the offending computer and ping the routers ip address. Does it get a response?

Do you have the latest drivers for the network card? Im not talking about the BS from the ms update site, im talking about the drivers from the network card manufacture website.

What windows OS are you using?

What are your system specs? Mainly im curious what two network cards you have?

Is this an issue that just started? Or is this a new computer you added to the network?

    How old is the router?

I havent done a ping test yet but I will the next time this problem occurs.

    I use windows 7 pro x64

My mobo is an Asus A8N-sli premium and I use the ethernet adapter thats on the mobo.

I've checked both asus and nvidia for drivers and none of which supports windows 7 x64. however, a website said that the auto update from windows should do fine in terms of updated drivers. This computer and router had coexisted for a while before this issue started.

The issue has been going on for about 3 weeks now and my computer as well as my router never had a problem 2 months prior. The connections to the router has remained the same since the beginning.

This Router is roughly 3.5 months old.
