Wifi / Network based Keyboard / Mouse

Hi Everyone,

I don't really know what section this would suit, so please move if needed moderators.

Hope someone here can help me.

I have a customer that we have supplied a home automation solution for him, now he has added a PC in to the question and we are strugling with getting a keyboard and mouse for him to use.

currently the situation is as follows;

Comms room in his basement with the following

3x 3D BluRay Players
3x Sky Boxes
1x Dune Player
1x PC

These are connected to a HDMI Matrix which can display any of the devices in any of the 8 rooms on request.

The problem is the PC, we need a local input device for controlling the PC.
we had installed a Keyboard/Mouse application on his iPad for controlling the PC, this works perfectly, but he cannot get used to typing on the ipad or using it as a mouse and wants an actual Keyboard / Mouse solution.

What we need is a Wifi (network based) keyboard & Mouse but i can't find anything that exists.

We cannot use anything that is plugged in to the PC as the size of the house and floors is going to make it impossible to even reach the room above it, let alone the rest of the rooms in the house.

Has anyone got any ideas on what we could supply?

I don't know about an actual wifi combo but hp just came out with a wifi mouse. Probably not going to be what you are looking for as its more unit to unit rather that a network controlled option. What you could do is a bluetooth keyboard and mouse paired to his iPad or depending on the distanced even a good bluetooth unit even paired to the PC. Or maybe even running a small netbook?

the bluetooth to the iPad sounds like a good idea, albeit that he then needs to take the iPad to every room to use the PC.
Unfortunately he has a pretty big house and Bluetooth to the PC is out of the question (we cannot even get it to work in the room next door due to the thickness of his walls)
