Have had just about all flavors. Can't really imagine choosing to stay with a dial-up account unless, like the one poster said, the speed increase wouldnt justify the installation costs. (Assuming the costs were in the hundreds of dollars) I suppose if all you do is check email and so forth then there is really no reason to switch. Had DSL for two years, and it was outstanding. Two different providers but same backbone. Cable now and it is faster downstream though I do miss my dsl 256 Upstream for personal webhosting. 128K cap on current cable connection. Dialup is history. Adios

I had dialup but Cox is really cheap to get in my area. You can get a self install kit now that costs almost nothing. (I still think that's dirty though; install it yourself and you still pay them for installation) but our speeds are quick and the service is now that the switchover is complete, very reliable. They also don't seem to mind if you a router to share your connection between two computers. Cool..

I'm only worried about the tiered pricing plan they keep talking about. I know I fall in that top 10% of d/l'ers category. Linux ISO's : Gotta have 'em!

Got a dialup cause that's all that's availible right now. Although starting in Aug or so, ISDN will be availible. I can't even get DSL installed from Ma Bell
Welcome tro hicksville. Wireless is an option, but setup charges are 3-500 bucks, plus 50 a month OUCH!
I'm still waiting for prices to come down a little

Broadband can't be beat for all kinds of stuff, including gaming . Without it I would die. Literally.

Literally? I think you mean virtually, young Johnny Matrix
