    How is this possible?

    This is totally weird.

I was watching some movie on my Home Theater System and I was lowering the volume on my HTS. At the same time I had my laptop on as well. I noticed that the Save window popped up suddenly. I disregarded that.

But then I increased the volume and then the scroll bar moved upwards. And then I noticed that whenever I would press Volume or Channel up/down buttons, I would notice some change in the computer working. Not sure why?

But please look at this video:

    Here are the scenarios:

Volume Up (Remote): Scroll Bar Upward (Computer)
Channel Up (Remote): Scroll Bar Downward (Computer)
Channel Down (Remote): Incremental upward movement of Scroll bar (Computer)
Volume Down (Remote): Save Screen opens up.

Is your laptop capable of being used by remote control?
If it is then there must be an option somewhere to turn it off.

Only other thing i can think of is if the HTS is networked then the laptop is picking up the signals somehow.

No the laptop doesn't have any remote control capabilities.

HTS doesn't have any wireless or bluetooth system either?

So not sure what exactly is causing this to happen.

    - as long as it is what you want to do!

The only thing I can think of is that you have the Infrared port activated on your laptop. You need to go into the BIOS(usually) and disable the Infrared port. You might be able to disable it by going into the device manager, looking for "Infrared port " or similar and disabling it(the Do Not Use This Device (Disable) option from the list), but I couldn't tell what OS you were running.
They say technology slows down for no one. I know it outruns my wallet. I figure its because my wallet isn't light enough yet.

x2 on the IR port. If you have one on the computer it is probably the cause.

    That is interesting though!

Well, the OS is Windows Vista.

Is there an Infrared port on every computer? I believe there is no Infrared Port on my computer. I went through the My Device Manager section, but no avail.

Anyways, I am not concerned or consider this as a problem. But I guess it was something unusual to see and try to find what the root problem is. Thanks.
