    wep security

     
    i am buying a new laptop and my verizon router supports wep encryption
    how safe is that or should i be worried

    Unless your Verizon router is several years old it should support WPA or WPA2 which are much better alternatives and if it is that old you'd be much better off getting a new one anyways.

    WEP should be classified as better than nothing. It is easily broken, look at it like a pane of glass it will keep honest folks out but, if a bad guy wants in their coming in without much trouble. RicheemxX suggestion of WPA or WPA 2 is much safer.
