    Speadstream SS2602 Router

I have an SS2602 Speedstream router that isn't communicating with a new Ares modem from Time Warner. Have done many re-starts to try and synch. Any suggestions?

Is this DSL? You might have to set up PPOE or something like that in the router.

I have a cable modem for high speed Internet. What is PPOE, and how do I find out how to set it up?

You shouldn't need to do PPoE for cable.

I've ran into similar issues with Comcast in the past. You might start with completely unplugging and disconnecting all your cables and everything for a few mins. Re-connect your modem and power it on, wait until it syncs up then connect your router and power it up finally connect the pc. I've found my modem seems to want to attach itself to a single MAC address and occasionally acts up when connecting new devices
