More DSL Woes!
Having issues with DSL connectivity, would the figures below possibly explain why I lose DSL frequently? I got these after a 68 min phone call, a promise of no more issues, and oh yeah.... 4 more dropped connections
. I have searched about these numbers but I am not sure exactly which is my S/N ratio number and which numbers should be high db and which should be low.
Thanks in advance,
Greg

Any background details here?
Is this a new connection that hasn't worked? old connection that just developed the issue what?
Have you checked all your filters?
Any background on when this might be happening? any particular activities? times of day ect?
Any info might be useful

I am signed up for 8.0 Mbps. When everything is good I have seen speed checks at 10 Mbps. However this service is rarely good. I drop internet all of the time. The modem just seems to lose DSL connection at random waves. I say waves b/c it will be fine for a period of time, then when it drops it usually regains and loses connection for minutes afterwards, only to become stable for a period of time. It has done this on and off (on more so than off) for 2.5 years. I just recently upgraded to 8.0 and started online gaming again so I want to get this resolved so I can enjoy what I am paying for.
Like I tell the technicians, there are no phones plugged in to any jacks in the house, just the DSL modem. It seems to have more problems following rain or poor weather although it has happened when it is nice out as well. I live in the country so I have no clue where the CO is or my distance to it. This problem will happen when it is hooked directly to a computer or to a router. It also happens in regular mode or bridge mode.
I am turning to techimo b/c the technicians have all said the problem is fixed and I will not have any more issues. This last time (2nite) it occurred 20 minutes after hanging up with the tech who again promised to have fixed the issue, said something about rebuilding my connection.

If you haven't already the first two things I would check are the junction outside the house and the jack you are plugged into. I had very similar issues with my DSL and it ended up being the wiring. The first time around the drop and junction box needed to be switched out. The box was old school and moisture would get in and cause interference.
The second time around the jack needed to be changed. Believe it or not a spider made a home in there and it caused enough static to wreak havoc with my connection. Often times in older homes you'll even run into issue with other lines causing static which in turn causes random drops. Especially when you get weather.

The junction is what I believe to be the problem, I just need to convince my provider of this. The first thing the tech claimed was something in the house was causing the problem. They blamed my router, satellite tv boxes plugged in (are none), etc. I tried explaining that I can watch the modem lose DSL signal then come back, they still tried to say the router was the issue. That is why I want to know if my levels look good?
