    Viewing video remotely

    Hello all,

I am having a big issue trying to view video from my NVR remotely. I have an IP based recorder and several cameras, all on the same subnet.

All works great when sitting on the network, but I have a Verizon home router on the second nic with port forwarding setup to several ports, basically all that are suggested by the recording software manuf.

I can log in remotely but something is blocking the video, no matter what I do it will not work. The remote client can even see the cameras and get the names but just no video.

All help is appreciated. Thank you.

Is your NVR configurable? ( I am really asking to see if IT has an OS ) Or, are you running software on it like EXACQ or what software are you referencing? How many cameras are on that subnet? When you are sitting on the network do you have any tools that show IP addresses for the cameras?

Is there ANY security on the NVR? Something that would require you to log in securely?

Let me know. Others will join in,,,some are just getting back.

    Thanks

The NVR is configurable, fully in fact. The machine is a Rack Server running windows 2008 R2 and the software is Occularis by ONSSI. The IPs are all viewable from the server and this is how I added them.

All cameras were manually configured by myself and there are about 65 or so.

When I view remotely, my client program connects, authenticates and can see everything its supposed to, except video LOL.

As far a security goes, just windows log on when on the actual server and basic username and password for the client to talk to the program.
