    Wireless Lan Speed

     
    Hello everyone,,I have myself a Realtek RTL8185 Wireless Lan Utility installed on a HP desktop running Winxp spk3. The wireless speed runs between 1.0Mbps and 11.0Mbps. What I would like to know,,if there is a safe way to increase the speed????

    I don't think there is a way of doing this outside of flashing the firmware of the network card. But there is a way to optimize your connection. SpeedGuide.net :: TCP Optimizer / Downloads

    What kind of router are you running? What are the connection speeds from your ISP? How are you determining your speeds?

    That Realtek RTL8185 looks like a wireless G card so assuming you have a decent Wireless G router and get good reception there isn't much you can do.
