Granting Permissions to External Drive Hooked up to Router

I recently bought a LINKSYS E4200 R, which has allowed me to hook up an external drive directly to the router. The only problem I'm having I'm having is setting permissions on the external drive over the network. I drive needs to have full permissions across the network so I can stream files through WMP12. I tried hooking the hard drive up to the laptop and setting the permissions then but that did nothing once it was hooked back up to the router. Anyone have any suggestions for what I can do?

I'm assuming this is a USB hard drive? if so you need to set the access restrictions on the router control panel. From there it should show as a shared drive on any of the computers connected and granted access. You might want to run the cisco connect software on each of the PCs. It generally makes discovering connected devices like hdd's and printers a bit easier.
