New laptop, poor internet (old laptop fine)
I received my new laptop yesterday and am very happy with it. It is a Core i3, 8gb RAM, Fujitsu notebook.
The problem is that the internet seems to be unbearably slow. My crappy old netbook still gets strong speeds (the connection at the moment says 78mb/s).
On my new laptop I am having trouble:
1) streaming youtube videos
2) downloading files (it is stop start, and I have to pause downloads before continuing them at fast download speeds
3) downloading from installers (adobe for eg. simply says "cannot contact reasonable source" and stops)
4) loading web pages without a delay in them appearing (sometimes up to 5 seconds... which isn't good enough considering the other laptops in the house are fine.
I have got up-to-date wireless drivers and all my software seems up to date. Last night I downloaded a new wireless driver which I thought solved the issue, but lo-and-behold the internet is poor again. On speed tests online the average download speed is between 5-9mb/s but on actual downloads it is not even nearly reaching these speeds and is very stop start.
Please help? It is very important for my work that I have fast access to internet and that is what I primarily bought this laptop for - fast multitasking and internet searching!
