    Trying to access Ports.

I am using a Modem & have just reset it, and have selected the Ports I am trying to use as Exceptions on Windows Firewall - until recently, I was able to access one of these ports (with CanYouSeeMe.org) - I just contacted my service provider and found out they are not blocking my ports; so I am trying to discover the root of my problem.

I am using a few other programs; I have AVG Anti-Virus (which allows exceptions of Paths) I also have Spybot S&D (not active as far as I can tell) and this program Belarc Advisor (which I'm not certain of all its functions).

Those are all of the possible factors that I have conceived, and I am at a loss as to what the problem may be.

Belarc is just a pc profiling tool that shows software/hardware installed it shouldn't run unless instructed so that shouldn't be a factor.

You said you reset you modem, which is likely a router too, did you have it set to fwd the ports you need before hand and maybe not reset those?

What ports are you trying to open, and for what?

Spybot has an active scanner that might be an issue. Any other recent security or software changes?

It's only a modem; I am trying to access 6112 (Warcraft III) and 5738 (Visual Boy Advance).

I couldn't find any options for Port Exceptions in Spybot S&D.

The only recent changes were new Windows Service packs (for XP),

and updated graphics driver; and I've also installed MSI Live Monitor,

which automatically reminds me of driver updates.
