    Cannot find dns server error

So once ever 1-2 hours my internet turns off and says unable to find dns server. The only way ive found to fix this is by removing router and modem powerplugs and then going to my router website and status DHCP release then renew. It's rather annoying but it works but i want to fix this so I can play games without being disconnected. When I go to my router website it has 0.0.0.0.0 on Static DNS1 and Static DNS2 when it's not working, but it will have numbers when it does work

Go into your router and manually enter the DNS servers. Try OpenDNS's.

BTW- What model and brand is the router? Someone may ask you to do an IPconfig/all in Command prompt and post that here.

this is all that came up doing ipconfig /all and the router model BEFSR41 linksys. I think I may of fixed it by inputing the static DNS server numbers when the internet works in manually. I'll see if it does.

What it's getting from my ISP, but there is a section where you can plug in your own and I just copied the DNS Server number I would of gotten if the internet is working.

Hrm do you have the latest firmware installed on your router? This also could be the sign of your router showing its age and maybe need to be replaced.

My modem/router was keep throwing me off the net with DNS errors. I had tried reboots from the configuration page and I had tried power off resets, but it didn't help any. I then tried the reset button in the back, and even though it was already on the original ISP supplied configuration (apart from perhaps the wireless channel) it has worked much better since the reset. Not perfect, but a massive improvement. I wasn't expecting any result from that reset button, but was surprised by what I got.
