Wired (for LAN use) & Wireless (for WAN)???

    Hi all..

Recently moved to a new house and unfortunatly I cannot get decent internet here its a bit rubbish.. I was previously on 6 mb/s download speeds and now i'm lucky to hit 400 kb/s

because of where it got installed i'm having to use the wireless part of my router to connect to the internet (not a fan of wireless).. but this is fine.. i connect ok and download/game away with no problems

when I want to stream movies to my PS3 or iPad they tend to lag quite badly and buffer.. even tho its not actually going through the internet.. weird i know!

think the router is a bit rubbish!

I still have my old router (unfortunately I cannot swap the old for the new as it doesn't have a phone socket connection)

now when I disconnect the wireless and plug my ethernet cable into my computer
(connected to my old router which isnt on the internet)
the streaming is great no problems at all!

I tried connecting both however it doesn't seem to want to work, I either get internet or I get media server working cant get both

tried bridging it and i gives me internet but the media server wont connect (even tho the ipad and ps3 can see it)

    any ideas?

currently i'm disabling LAN adaptor for when I want internet and disabling wireless when I want media server
but i'd like to be able to download whilst I stream stuff

sorry for the massive post hopefully someone can help

    Thanks

both are the standard ones that come from my ISP
    first (my preferred one) is a Netgear Wireless-N 300 WNR2000 v2
and the other one is made the ISP (well its branded as being made by them) - its an adsl router
