Question about accessing media outside of network
I'm planning on a long trip, and i would like my laptop to connect to my home PC to watch movies/ music from another network to my home. is there a way to have streaming from pc to laptop that is not in the same network?

If I recall correctly with LogMeIn there are two ways you can do it. You can access the hard drive and download video files and run them on your remote computer. Or you can run the video on the home computer and view the screen on your remote computer. Obviously it won't work well on a slow connection.

It's either a feature of Windows 7 or the newer versions of WMP but you can also setup WMP has a media server that is linked to your Windows Live Logins. Assuming you have the needed software and the logins.
Remote Media Streaming - Windows 7 features - Microsoft Windows
VLC has the built in features to act as a media streaming app as well
VideoLAN - VLC - Features

Just one of those things most of us probably over look. I know I had recalled seeing it before but never used it. I generally prefer to have all my media with me onsite, or available to download online. Because accessing it and streaming from a network can sometimes be a pain if you don't have a good connection.
