    change router password..

     
    ...just wanted to know the easy way to change my router password and if I can do it from my computer without resetting the router....I have 2 wireless routers, one is brighthouse ( g router) and mine is a linksys n router....just wanted to have the better speed all to myself since I pay for all of it.....

    uhh this sounds overly obvious but all you do it log into the router setup page and change it

    edit: if you aren't sure how to do that refer to the manual. For the linksys however the default ip should be 192.168.1.1 The default username is blank or "admin". The default password is "admin"

    Aside from this being an old thread, you are giving potentially bad advice, richvarsay.
    A factory reset, using the reset button on the router would mean having to set up the router again. Whatever changes you needed to make to the SSID, security settings, firewall, port forwarding, MAC address filtering and anything else would all need to be re-done.
    And this is for a person who isn't sure how to set a new router password, and specifically states that they want to be able to avoid resetting the router.
    RicheemxX already told the original poster how to access the settings over 3 months ago.
