Verizon DSL ???

I am about ready to sign up for either DSL or Cable.
DSL in my area is with Verizon.
Anyone have any personal experience with Verizon DSL?
Is it stable and trouble free? Mostly trouble free?
Should I consider Cable ISP instead?
I've certianly got the dialup blues,lol.
Any thoughts or suggestions will greatfully appreciated.

not ever area is the same experiences. i know out here in Yorktown Va Verizon is not all that great DSL wise

Verizon (formerly Bell Atlantic) has had a bad rep in my area. Check DSL Reports.

Cable, which comes inthru the same wires as your TV is much faster than Verizon - 2.5MBPS compared to 780KBPS advertised by Verizon (hope my numbers are correct). I chose Cable-Road Runner- its excellent and costs same as Verizon-$44.95 per month - no extras.

I'd sign up for both as they give the first month free and choose. Sign up for the cable first because they'll connect immediately. verizon may take 8-10 days.

Cable is mostly better than DSL, if you are in a sparse area, meaning, small neighborhood, with fewer people with cable internet. In our area, the cable is not so wide spread.

So, the better of the two is cable.

I would go with Coxs if its aviable up there
