Images not displaying in IE 6.

I've recently taken a couple of calls about IE not displaying pictures, just the image placeholders when browsing the net. I've checked a bunch of steps such as checking the IE advanced options, security, cleaning out temp files and cache, and updating video drivers with no luck. So far, I've had to reload XP twice to fix the issue. IE sp1 was also installed if not present, but I still have been unable to find an answer. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and managed to fix it.

This problem is caused by IE6 sp1. Are the images in question GIFs? Also, this was rolled into XP sp1, so everyone got this bug. Last time I checked there was no fix for it.

Do they do any testing before they rollout code?

This problem seems like a pretty hard thing for them to miss if you ask me.

Neither of these systems had IE SP1 installed when the problem first showed up. I'm not entirely sure, but I think it was just gif files that weren't displaying. I'll look into it some more. Thanks.

IE6 Sp1 is included in XP sp1. It is probally one of the fixes contained in it, but it must have been a later one. (I never got it from windows update, but I stopped using WU as I was no longer using windows when sp1 came out)
