SMTP over and over on my server!

I have a web/ftp server running and I was cheap and downloaded a Email Server, for myself. I set up all of the accounts correctly but for some reason if I leave the server on for a long time there are tons of SMTP procceses running.
It looks like they are duplicates or something

At one point I had 30 SMTP.exe process running and made the server soooo slooooow!!

Also, does Win2k pro, have an email server built in??

i bet you are being open for relay. you should see smtp under iis.

Or the SMTP process isn't dying after completeing a connection.

How do I kill the process after it does not complete?

If you are in Win2k, open the Task Manager and start shooting.. But if you kill the parent process, the child processes should die, but it will also shutdown the server.

I guess it just depends on how the SMTP server handles SIGKILL's ...If it doesn't handle it gracefully, you may end up having problems.
