    Network problem(s)

    I am currently running an Windows 2000 Server as part of a small lan
    which is connected to a large network. I am able to connect to my
    domain and ping my servers and other computers on my server without
    running a DNS on my Windows 2000 server. The DNS and DHCP are being
    handled by a separate firewall. I'm not allowed to have a DNS Server
    configured, nor am I allowed to have a DHCP server running on my
    windows 2000 server. I can connect to my Domain using a windows XP
    client, however, group policies and my login scripts refuse to run;
    however, I am still able to browse files and directories according to
    my shared rights specified on the server. Does anyone know whats going
    on? I'm using netbios to find the server... arg.

    thanks in advance.
