    Setting up a home network

Hello, I'm currently expanding my home network. I have DSL and I want to share it with all of my computers (file sharing is not important). I already have a 4 port router, and I have 4 computers already connected to it. However, I want to get another computer online. I have already bought a 4 port hub for it and I am not sure what to do from here. I am taking basic networking at my high school and I think that I'm supposed to use a crossover cable to connect the hub to the router. However, my father says that a regular CAT 5 cable will work as well. What should I do?

    Thanks!

You can just take a regular straight through cable into the uplink of the hub. Then you will able to plug in 4 more computers.

Straight thru according to linksys, but you didn't include what brand router you have
