| help!!! my DSL is very slow!
for some reason my DSL has gotten very slow. when i use Kazza or download something using internet explorer from the web, the speed is only about 10 - 20 kb/sec. it used to be around 60-100 kb/sec. i have no idea what is wrong. the browsing has gotten slower too. almost like dial up. can anyone hear help me?

it sounds like your first step of action should be to call the dsl people.
but check out network card setings to make sure you're running at full duplex and not half.
also, please tells us what your os and hardware are. |

right-click on 'network neighborhood', right-click on the local area connection and select properties. click on the configure button and then click on the advanced tab. you'll see a link speed & duplex setting. |

It may just be that your ISP is trying to recoup from the W32/SQLSlam-A or
SQLSlammer worm that has embedded itself in many an unprotected windows network. My ISP had issues with this over the w/e and it has since cleared up, however I have read that a few ISP's are still experiencing issues. If this is the case, than all you need is a little patience and time. (It probably wouldn't hurt to call your ISP and reference this worm issue either)
