Wont Recieve Packets..

All of the sudden my pc wont recieve packets

! Does anyone have any idea why that would happen?

If you need more details ask and hopefully i can provide them.

This is the Win XP Pro machine from your other post right?

What kind of connection are you using (how are you connected also) and how exactly are you determining that you are no longer receiving packets? Can you ping other computers on your home network (if you have one)? Any firewalls running (including XP's built-in)?

You say "all of the sudden", have you installed anything/made any changes recently?

i have tried to connect using a wireless usb adapter, and connect directy to my router, i know im not recieving packets because of the the connection properties box or whatever its called.

It sounds like a WEP problem. If encryption is setup wrong you will see the AP, send packets but not recieve any.

it cant be wep b/c it wasnt working with a wired ethernet connection and that doesn't use wep

Maybe you IP lease is expired and it is having problems renewing.

Try an ipconfig /release and then ipconfig /renew from the DOS prompt.

Also, if your using a hub with an uplink push button... make sure the button wasn't accidentally pushed (i.e. killed the uplink)

i dont think the IP lease could be expired because the internet works on my other 3 computers
